Speed, Time and Distance Calculator
Give two of the three values (speed, time, distance) and find the third.
Tip: Distance = speed × time. Give two and the calculator finds the third automatically.

About this digital tool
The speed, time and distance calculator finds the third value when you know the other two. Choose what you are looking for, time, speed or distance, enter the two known values and get the result.
It is based on the well-known relationship distance = speed × time. For time it divides distance by speed, for speed it divides distance by time, and for distance it multiplies speed by time. Distance is given in km, speed in km/h and time in hours and minutes. The tool is used to predict how long a trip takes, how fast you need to walk or run and how far you get in a set time.
How to use
- Choose what to calculate: speed, time or distance.
- Enter the two known values.
- See the calculated result.
Frequently asked questions
How is travel time calculated?
Time = distance ÷ speed. E.g. 150 km at 90 km/h = 1 hour 40 minutes.
Does it account for breaks during the trip?
No — the calculation is purely mathematical. Add extra time for breaks, traffic and road conditions.
How is average speed calculated?
Divide the distance covered by the time taken. For 150 km in 2 hours the average speed is 75 km/h. Choose Speed in the tool and enter the distance and time.
How do I convert km/h to m/s?
Divide km/h by 3.6. For example 72 km/h is 20 m/s. In the opposite direction multiply m/s by 3.6.
