Simple tools for everyday life.

Tip: FV = PV × (1 + r)ⁿ — the effect of compound interest grows exponentially with time.

About this digital tool

The future value (FV) calculator shows what money invested today will be worth after a number of years at a given growth rate. Enter the starting amount, the annual rate, the years and, if you wish, regular contributions, and the tool gives the future value using the formula FV = PV × (1 + r)^n. The result includes the effect of compound interest.

It is useful for planning savings, children's education, retirement or buying a home. By changing the rate and the time, you can see how much time matters. The real rate of return is uncertain, so the result is an indicative scenario, not a guarantee. For a more realistic picture, compare it with inflation too.

How to use

  1. Enter the current amount (PV).
  2. Set the annual rate and the period.
  3. See the future value.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between FV and PV?

PV converts future values into present values (by discounting). FV does the opposite — it shows how today's money grows in the future (by compounding).

How is future value calculated?

Multiply today's amount by (1 + r) raised to the number of years. For example, 200,000 lek at 4% a year for 10 years becomes about 296,000 lek.

What is the difference between FV and simple interest?

FV with compounding calculates interest on previous interest, so it grows faster than simple interest, especially over many years.

Does future value include inflation?

Not in nominal terms. To see real purchasing power, compare the result with the inflation calculator or use a rate of return net of inflation.
