About this digital tool

The area and cost per m² calculator helps you find the area in square metres of a room or plot and, if you enter the price per m², the total cost. Choose the shape: rectangle, L-shape or triangle, and fill in the dimensions.

The formulas are simple: for the rectangle width × length, for the L-shape the sum of two rectangles and for the triangle 0.5 × base × height. Then the area is multiplied by the price per m² in Lek. The tool serves for ordering materials, for work charged per m² and for comparing offers from different firms, without needing a calculator or a table.

How to use

  1. Choose the shape: rectangle, L-shape or triangle.
  2. Enter the dimensions in metres according to the chosen shape.
  3. Optionally enter the price per m² in Lek.
  4. Read the area in m² and the total cost.

Frequently asked questions

How is the area of a room calculated?

For a rectangle: length × width. For irregular shapes, split it into smaller rectangles and add up the areas.

How is the area of an L-shaped room calculated?

Split it into two rectangles, calculate each (width × length) and add them. The tool has an L-shape mode where you enter the dimensions of the two parts and get the total.

How do I find the total cost from the price per m²?

Multiply the area by the price per m². For 20 m² and 1,000 Lek per m² it comes to 20,000 Lek. In the tool enter the price in the relevant field and the total appears immediately.

Is the area of the triangle calculated correctly?

Yes, the classic formula 0.5 × base × height is used, where height is the perpendicular distance from the base to the apex. Don't use the slanted side instead of the height.
